Uncommon Ground is the place where human uniqueness meets and blossoms into something shared.
Between what divides us and what connects us lies a fragile terrain — a metaphor for the balance between individuality and coexistence.
The artwork speaks of human rights not as rules, but as a natural extension of our humanity:
the need to see, respect, and care for one another.
Only when this takes root can rights truly grow and become common ground.
It reflects the quiet layers of human experience — identity, freedom, empathy, and the right to simply exist —
inviting us to consider what it means to belong, to stand out, and to evolve together within our shared humanity.
Eleni Simantiraki
She ended up studying graphic arts after having already been admitted to the Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art. However, subjects like mathematics, biology, and chemistry held her back. She had also tried her luck in decorative arts, which, although creative, lacked the strong artistic element she deeply desired.
After working for nine years in the advertising industry, she not only gained valuable hands-on experience but also learned lessons that shaped her approach to creative work. What she considers foundational in everything she does is the importance of the concept.
